Vineyard & Winery
Our own red &
white wines
Matthias Bernhart and his family cultivate wine and fruit with passion and dedication at the historic Mairhof in the heart of Parcines. For centuries untold, wine has been produced right here within the age-old stone walls and on the sun-kissed slopes. The vineyard has been owned by the family for 90 years. Around 40 years ago we replanted the vines, initially for our family’s own enjoyment. In recent years, however, the vineyards have expanded, and a brand-new cellar has given this ancient tradition a sparkling new home.
Our wines range from fresh Riesling to Grüner Veltliner – a rarity found in these parts - as well as Vernatsch, Pinot Noir, and Lagrein, which we vinify as rosé.
All of our vineyards are south to south-west facing and lie between 600 and 650 metres above sea level - the perfect conditions for juicy, fruity wines with a vibrant acidity. Our white wines, in particular, feature an impressively delicate minerality. Most of our wines mature in stainless-steel vats, with some resting in wooden barrels - preserving the pure unadulterated freshness of every delectable drop.

Tasting room
Where wine and people meet
Some time ago now, our wine cellar found a new home, which allowed us to convert the oldest part of the house – an impressive 800 years old – into a magnificent tasting room. Here, within the thick stone walls illuminated by gentle candlelight, we welcome you into the historic atmosphere of the Ansitz Mairhof. Surrounded by the history of the land and the house, we share our knowledge and passion with you, guiding you through a tasting experience that engages your every sense.
